This is a custom-made solid cherry bed frame with 3 built-in drawers for BOTH sides of the bed.
It was purchased from Bedrooms & More in Seattle as a made-to-order queen-sized bed frame. The picture is from the website and the more pixelated one is the actual bed itself.

In the pictures you can also see the cherry base boards that run along the top and bottom to join the drawer sets. There is plywood that lays on top of the drawers. You can put either your mattress or box spring directly on this or not use it at all.
(There is no headboard.)
There is also a small hinge door at the base of the bed frame to access the space between the two sets of drawers. It's another place to store things such as shoes, shoe boxes, or other items you want to keep out of the way.
The bed frame was disassembled and wrapped in plastic by professional movers and stored in a temperature-controlled storage unit (in Napa.)

Any handyperson or DIYer can easily assemble. Alternatively, you can set the plywood on top the drawers and call it done without using the base and top frame joiners. Drawers will still work as the bed frame.

-- Mattress Size: Built for a queen-sized Sleep Number mattress, but the solid wood rail design allows it to be easily modified to fit a Full or King size by adjusting the width between the drawers and leaving the frame top and bottom wood joiners off.
