Selling our vintage Milo Baughman rosewood case sofa with black leather cushions. I've attached the receipt where I paid $3,840 in 2009.
Purchased it because it’s an iconic mid-century modern piece (and because I thought I’d take better care of it). Fast forward a few years and three kids later, the sofa has seen things. It’s structurally solid and still a beauty from across the room, but up close you’ll see some veneer chips, scratches, and worn leather.
Details:
• Designer: Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin
• Rosewood case with chrome legs
• Black leather cushions (fair condition – no big rips or openings, but definitely aged with some missing stitching.
• Dimensions: 7 ft long, 34" deep, 24 1/4" high
• Condition: Fair+ Needs refinishing/reupholstering if you want it pristine
Restored versions of this exact sofa sell for $6,000–$10,000+ on sites like 1stDibs. If you’re handy or know a good refinisher, this could be a great project piece. Or you can keep it as-is and call the wear “patina.”
If you want a museum piece, this isn’t it. If you want a legit Baughman sofa with some character then this is your couch.
