Design Plus Gallery presents a Vintage Fish Bowl Art Glass by George Bucquet. A mold is individually crafted for each casting and the colored molten glass, formulated from scratch, is melted to 2350 F in a custom built furnace. This incredible vessel is handcrafted by the artist and his team using hot glass poured into a handmade sand mold, carefully pressed into shape. After several days of cooling in an annealing oven, the bowl was skillfully hand detailed in gold leaf. The golden fish, seen through the glass, create a unique sculpture. Made in the USA. Light scratches (shown) on underside edge; visible crack; fair condition.
I am drawn to create forms that are reflections of the beauty I see in nature and the human formso many images. For me, the final destination has always been simple beauty; a beauty that is innately recognized by anyone. No intellectual understanding is necessary.
