- Custom riser with LED light. Lights are controlled via screen interface.
- Filament dry box. I always print with the filament spool in this box to ensure dry filament.
- Several print plates.
- Print head “cage” in PETG-CF to reduce weight (original case included)
- Replaced the plastic OEM extrude gears with hardened steel gears, with wear-resistant self lubricating bearings.
- Firmware is flashed to OpenCentauri, rather than the (buggy) Elegoo firmware. That also means the machine does not “phone home” to dubious servers abroad.
- The sensors and heat-bed motherboard have been replaced under warranty.
This is a first-gen Centauri Carbon. Can be turned into a 4 color printer with the Elegoo Canvas unit ($55 from their website). Yes it is compatible with the Canvas system.
