Nicasio Valley Cheese Co. is seeking a hardworking, dependable Assistant Cheesemaker to join our award-winning organic farmstead creamery in beautiful Marin County.
We are a family-owned creamery producing handcrafted cheeses from 100% organic cow’s milk using traditional Swiss-Italian techniques. This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with an experienced cheesemaking team and be part of a growing artisan food company.
Responsibilities
• Assist with daily cheesemaking operations from milk handling through aging
• Sanitation and cleaning of production equipment and facility
• Monitor cheese production processes and record keeping
• Packaging, labeling, and inventory support
• Help maintain food safety and quality standards
• General creamery and production support as needed
Qualifications
• Interest in artisan cheese, dairy production, or food manufacturing
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
• Reliable transportation and punctuality required
• Previous cheesemaking or food production experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
