AKG microphone - $49 (Point Reyes Station)

This started life as an AKG D320B. It went kaput. My mic tech couldn't repair it, so rather than throw the body away, he replaced the capsule with one he said was very similar and very, very nice. It sounds very, very nice and looks fine as long as you ignore the hole where something that it no longer needs used to be. I don't recall who made the capsule the tech put in, so I can't claim it's an AKG any longer. But it sounds very, very nice. You won't want to drop it.

NO TEXTS, please. We don't get cell service on this phone.
