The 1246 was Dual’s top top belt-drive table when introduced in 1975. The specs are excellent, with the same special anti-resonator counterweight used in the 721 and 704. Think of the 1246 as the belt drive version of the 721 without VTA. It is very quiet.
This table has been gone through thoroughly, with the following steps taken:
Disassembly of critical parts and lubrication with correct grease
New steuerpimpel
New speed selector and pitch control sasemblies
Repaired counterweight anti-resonator
New drive (Thakker, best German quality) and pitch control belts
New anti-spark capacitor
Added highly regarded Acutex M207 LPM cartridge, bi-radial stylus, mounted in genuine Dual head shell.
New Amphenol RCA plugs
Table is in good cosmetic condition throughout. Dust cover is excellent—clear, without cracks or chips.
A really fine-sounding and cool-looking turntable rebuilt to run for years. Better than any belt-drive table today under $1000.
