The Audiosource AMP 100) is a reliable, analog 2-channel Class A/B power amplifier. It delivers 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and features A/B speaker switching, auto-on signal sensing, and a bridged mono mode (up to 160W). It is widely used for home theater, office setups, and multi-zone audio.
In 4-ohm stereo mode, the amplifier actually produces more power than its standard 8-ohm rating, outputting 60 watts per channel (compared to 50 watts at 8 ohms).Keep in mind these important rules for impedance:In Stereo Mode: You can easily run 4-ohm or 8-ohm speakers. You can even run two pairs of 8-ohm speakers simultaneously using the A + B zone switches.In Bridged Mode: You cannot use 4-ohm speakers. The minimum impedance for bridged mono operation is 8 ohms. Running a 4-ohm load while the amplifier is bridged will cause it to overheat and potentially trigger protection mode or damage the unit.
