We are looking for a camera assistant who is available to do half to full day shoots around the San Francisco Bay Area. The work will typically be twice to four times a week depending on how busy things get. Some events are speaker presentations, meetings, conferences and the like and some are legal depositions. You'll work with a cameraperson and occasionally with a small crew for multi-camera shoots.
This position is much like a paid internship or camera trainee. You'll be required to drive to the location and use a dolly to bring some gear into the building where the shoot is scheduled. Once inside you'll do most of the setup with direction from the cameraperson. You'll then standby and be ready to assist as needed.
This requires that you have a car to get to the our office and a valid drivers license. We'll have an hour to get set up and you must be available for the whole day with breaks if necessary, though many of the assignments are less than a full day. There's actually a lot of sitting around for the assistant while the shoot progresses. Business casual dress is required (collared shirt, slacks, skirt, dress shoes, etc).
While some videography background is a plus, it's not necessary for this position. A graduate from a college level video program who has never actually worked in the industry would be the perfect candidate. I will consider someone with very little or no video experience if they have some basic technical skills. Basic people skills, professional demeanor and work habits also required. Hourly pay and minimum rate paid depending on experience. Overqualified persons need not apply.
