Runs well, shifts smoothly, and actually handles great for a truck this age. Starts right up. The engine runs strong. Blue smoke is present on startup and after a long idle, which I’m 99% sure is just valve stem seals — very common on these 4.3 V6s. It doesn’t knock or make scary noises.
Known issues / transparency:
- Needs brake work (brake fluid looks contaminated, and may be leaking in the rear drums). IMPORTANT!
- AC and radio currently non-operational.
- Interior trim panels loose in a few places.
- Body has a significant dent in the passenger truck side panel -- see NOTE, below.
- Blue smoke as noted (valve stem seals or similar oil seepage into combustion).
The GOOD:
- Engine runs strong
- Clutch shifts correctly
- Steers and handles well
- Clean title
- No accidents reported on CARFAX
- Consistent registration history
(CARFAX confirms registration renewals — no salvage or mileage issues)
Registration / SMOG status (IMPORTANT):
- PNO (Planned Non-Operation) status — so no back fees.
- Buyer will be responsible for SMOG and registration activating from PNO.
- Selling as a project or non-operational truck.
Ideal for:
- LS swap platform
- Ranch truck
- First truck for someone who wants to wrench and learn
- Hot rod/sleeper project
