Star Wars Fans: Here's a special something that preceded the release of the first film and was kept secret for all these years. The story is this: The folks at Lucasfilm tried several different names for the film before settling on the one we know so well. For sale here is the physical, collectable evidence that the original plan was to name the film "The Star Wars." Yes, they decided to drop the "The."
However, some exploratory promotional materials were developed and later though to all have been destroyed. Well... turns out that a few of them did not get shredded as planned. That first film was released 48 years ago in May (5/25/77) and these items were developed and created months before that!
What I have for sale here are, as the photos show, a limited number of large (5"H x 4" at the base) and small (2 9/16"H x 2 9/16" at the base) triangular stickers with an illustration of a warrior you will all remember above the then working title of the film, "The Star Wars." Large one is $80., the small is $40.
No Shipping ... Locals and Cash only.
The large ones are for sale at $100. each and the small ones, for $50.
It is likely impossible that you will ever encounter another collector with one of these stickers. (Especially if you are able to by more than one of each!
They are, of course, as new - still attached to the original backing as shown.
The first sales will be local before posting whatever may remain on eBay.
