This set of 5 hardcover books are actually textbooks from the Women's Institute, with in-depth lessons in the culinary part of being a good homemaker in the 1920's. They're fascinating as cookbooks, as history, and as a look at social concepts of that time period.

The 5 volumes are:

--Milk, Butter, Cheese, Eggs and Vegetables
--Soup, Meat, Poultry, Game, Fish and Shellfish
--Salads, Sandwiches, Cold and Frozen Desserts,Cakes, Cookies, Puddings, Pastries and Pies
--Fruit, Desserts, Canning and Drying, Jelly-making, Preserving and Pickling, Confections, Beverages, and Planning Meals
.
And because they are textbooks, each chapter has a quiz that the student would write out answers to separately.

For their age - just short of 100 years - these books are in very good condition.
