It contains ‘Field marks of all trees, shrubs, and woody vines that grow wild in the northern and north-central United States and in south-eastern and south-central Canada.’ It includes extensive descriptions and illustrations of the wide-ranging trees and shrubs of the regions, by both the author George Petrides and Roger Tory Peterson, including the latter’s ‘Tree Silhouettes.’ The hardcover book is about 4-1/2” W x 7-1/2” H x 1-1/4” Thk w/top-grain leather cover w/printed texture, in ‘forest green.’ The pages are gilded gold on all exposed edges, and a 1/2" W green satin book mark ribbon is in-bound. Also included is a loose adhesive-backed Ex Libris card with which the buyer can personalize the copy. This is a Limited Edition, luxurious but nonetheless a working copy, to be long-lived in its leather wrappings.
