late 1940s to early 50s Monark tamBomber, cruiser, klunker in very nice original patina rust from their Chicago factory paint....
this is a local Marin bomber that was ridden on Mt.Tam in the day, it was un-rideable when received, and a complete dis-assembly and overhaul was performed...
care was taken not to disturb the look while rebuilding, no oil or grease can touch the frame in the process...
used on this build: a proper patina Wald stem was added, grips, new chain, new re-production Uniroyal knobby tires,
and a NEW NOS rear wheel with a Suntour coaster brake hub, chrome rim, and stainless spokes...
this wheel sat at WTB for years/decades and was donated to this cause...
the rear wheel was toast, and the front chrome wheel with a JoyTech old school hub was in great shape,
now the wheels match on this distressed gem...
also, correct bearings were installed with a fresh distressed looking bottom bracket assembly...
rebuild included rear end alignment and fork straightening in a jig as always...
every bike here is a "no hands" rider...
