I’m selling my get-around-town bike — a 1987 Fat Chance Wicked, one of the classics from the golden age of mountain biking. This frame is a 17.5” seat tube (center to center) with a 21.5” top tube (center to center).
I’ve got it set up as a round-town 2-speed — smooth, simple, and super fun to ride — but it can easily be converted back to a traditional mountain setup if that’s your thing.
Build Highlights:
- Dura-Ace crankset
- Paul Components Melvin chain tensioner & Rasta quick releases
- Chris King GripNut headset
- Brooks B17 saddle
- Phil Wood hubs laced to Mavic 217 rims
- Breezer Hite-Rite
- Nitto front and rear racks & Nitto Urban bars
- Oury grips
This is a truly great all-rounder — comfortable and capable for long-distance rides, town-to-town cruising, or daily errands. Whether you’re looking for a high-end vintage bike to handle your around-town adventures or a collectible frame with serious pedigree, this one fits the bill.
Easily returned to its original mountain bike setup if desired.
