1956 Columbia Fire Arrow, Five Star American decaling, received from a nearby auto shop where it sat for around 40 years in pieces, some missing...and with dirt and dark grime covering everything from the auto shops daily business...it was barely red when received...
easily 25+ hours to make this ride again, with wheels, seat, and grips that were missing, no visible wear on any bearing surfaces, rides like a new bike again...
the fork straightened, trued, and a new crown race was cut to bring this back to happy...
new black alloy wheelset was used in place of the missing wheels w/new ww tires, tubes, rimstrips, grips, and a saddle...
after we made a rolling unit with parts that were there (and continuing to study this model we knew nothing about), we found the correct horn bracket and the chrome trim for the top tube between the tank halves in the boxes!!! added a light/horn that fits perfectly with the bracket, and finally all the parts we could use are on the bike for now...
sold originally at Gibaud's 500 Main St. East at Scio (St.), Rochester, N.Y...
intel is a little scarce on Gibaud's, but someone noted they may have been open 1938-1959 and were an automotive concern, maybe a dealer or parts store that sold bikes as well???...
