This early 20th century (probably 1920s) shoe rack was from the US shoe manufacturing hub of the day--Lynn and Haverhill, Massachusetts. In its original use, it was for moving shoes around the factory during the shoe production process.
In current day use, they are often used as wine racks.
This rack measures 60 3/4 long x 16 deep x 49.5 high and is on wheels.
It is missing 1 dowel (see photo). It can hold 47 bottles if placed individually (48 if you were able to replace the dowel) but many more if bottles were stacked.
