As far as I can tell this appears to be an antique mail sorter. It has been in my family for many years but I no longer have room for it and hope to see it go to a new home! It has many small compartments and made from very sturdy wood!   

The sorter is in overall good condition with some wear (see pictures). Very reasonably priced!
