Hello all and thank you for looking.
We have finished clearing out mom's estate and have a few pieces - beautiful and unique antiques - we are selling with hopes they find a good home. Included is this beautiful - 19th Century armoire (quite large) that was valued (retail) at $18,000 in 2005. We are aware the market for armoires is not hot and get that number is ridiculous but it does reflect the age, beauty and value of the piece. The appraisal noted:
"The above piece is an exquisite wooden French armoire believed to be made of the rare and coveted walnut. The armoire is believed to be made in the lat 19th century/early 20th century. The armoire stands majestically at 7’2” H, 5’ across, 20 ¾” deep. All the iron hardware is believed to be original and in good condition including hinges, elaborately forged design for keyhole and large key. The two large doors open to cabinet lined in yellow and white wallpaper and three shelves inside. There are two drawers made with tongue and groove corners. Good condition, as viewed in the clients dining room."
Item is in storage in Petaluma - doors, drawers, shelves and cap piece/frieze have been removed for move but easily re assembled (doors just slide right on). If you would like to see please reach out to Drew at show contact info
with any questions - happy to answer. We don't deliver personally but happy to help coordinate with a mover.
