A unique writing desk with book-matched mahogany veneers has a petite upper roll top, which opens when the long locking fitted drawer is opened, to reveal a compartmentalized interior including a pen rail, fitted glass octagonal ink well with brass top, over three fitted small drawers, an interior fold-out felt writing surface supported by the long drawer, all raised over four tapered square legs supported by a base stretcher. A Shaw Furniture Co Cambridge MA brass label appears on the underside of the desk.
