This rectangular alpaca fur rug features a prominent running horse design. This handmade rug from Peru is crafted from natural alpaca fur and depicts a horse in mid-stride, with a brown and white patterned body and a dark mane and tail. The horse is set against a cream-colored background, also made of alpaca fur, creating a soft and textured surface. This super soft tapestry can function as an area rug, bed throw, or a wall hanging.
Material has been sewn to the back of the rug to protect the hide.
This beloved piece hung on my wall for many years, but unfortunately, it has had no place in our new house for the last 7 years. It has been safely stored for the previous seven years. While this is a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and pleasing to touch, tactile soft, it no longer fits in the decor of my home. I am hoping it will sell to someone who is equally appreciative and respectful of its roots (where it was made) and will long care for and admire it as I have. Although there are similar horse designs with alpaca fur out there, ultimately, all of these rugs are one of a kind because they were handmade, and no two rugs are identical.
