Vintage Hand-thrown Pit-fired Cylindrical Ceramic Vessel signed by the artist. The cylindrical shape is about 9” H x 3-1/2”-dia. base, transitioning to a rounded square rim about the same size. It was wheel-thrown, burnished, and dung fired, artist signed it on the underside ‘Lindberg 90.’ It has a coloration like another ceramist’s piece that was from the high desert of Central Oregon, so possibly done in the same vicinity. This work likely is inspired by the ancient pottery traditions of Native Americans. The thinly-potted vessel is decorated in smoky tones of peach, black, grey, and cream. This is an art piece, not intended for utilitarian purposes but rather for display only; it is not sealed and cannot hold liquids. Like the other piece referenced, the owner is admonished to clean it with only a dry soft cloth. The ceramic piece is available for local pick-up in San Rafael, cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
