This machine has seen little use - I bought it from a friend who almost never used it, and I think I cranked it up maybe a half dozen times at most. It works fine, and should last for many, many years.
The Vita Prep line is a step up in quality and durability from the standard Vitamix. As the description states, it's meant primarily for commercial applications.
