Set of four tires. Used on vintage car so I'd have the correct aspect of bias with the advantage of radials. Always in cooler, dark garage, not exposed to heat or UV rays other than perhaps nine or 10 shows since mounted in the mid aughts. Total of 1,876 miles on them. That's right. A total of one thousand, eight hundred and seventy-six easy miles on them. Absolutely no minute hairlines. Tread of course as new.
Tire companies make blanket statements to make their lawyers happy thinking how tires generally used, where most cars, light trucks parked, hence their adviso to replace every eight, max 10 years. Because radial rubber can degrade over time, I replaced them last week strictly for peace of mind. Could probably have driven on them another five years. Certainly good for trailer tires, rollers, etc.
Bring your brightest light and magnifying glass. Feel them.
While i cleaned them with a kitchen sponge and a couple drops of shampoo before a show, they have never, e v e r had a single drop of tire dressing, Armorall, any of that crap on them, tire companies never recommending such rubbish, which only builds a heat-transfer inhibiting film. So no gleaming, bolshoi photos.
Price firm. $400 for the set of four. Not $399. Think of haggling and the low price goes up.
Michelin, Bridgestone, and recently Yokohama (the latter a Canadian company despite the name) all discontinued the identical spec tire as these R230s. Obviously a small market. Trailers, and 1941-47 Buicks, Cads, Chrysler 8s, Hudson Commodore 8s, Packard 8s & Super 8s, for which metric/SUV tires do not look right, hence these bias- s i z e d sneakers. Never lost more than a pound of air a year.
