My BMW dealer chose to replace the entire tire vs repairing (its perfectly repairable and Pirelli allows repairs on their run flats), rather than just tossing it I asked them to give the tire back to me as I'd hate to see a tire in such good condition go to waste. it has approx. 12k miles on it, and has plenty of tread left (see pictures).

the puncture is a very small screw that is very much repairable (see picture).
