THE KATE BURKART BAND is a true Americana blend of rock, twang, and some quiet introspection. The common thread? Lyrics that tell a story and draw the listener in. Most often compared with Lucinda Williams, Kate was recently called “Neil Young with a dash of Karen Carpenter”… shows are everywhere throughout the San Francisco Bay Area!
Kate Burkart has been writing, singing, and playing in the San Francisco Bay Area for well over a decade. She released “Faith To Fall”, her debut album, in 2010. The six-song EP “Save Me a Seat” followed in 2015, and she’s released several singles since: “Last” (2017), “Moonlight” (2018, Blaze Foley cover), “Twisted Wind” (2020), and “Closer Away” (2022). Her latest EP, “Another Night” was released in late 2024.

BAY STATION DUO finds California-based songwriter/musicians Kwame Copeland and Deborah Crooks combining their talents and enlisting several musical friends to create a diverse form of Americana and rock music. They've released several collections of Americana and rock drawing on their literary chops and post-punk and twang tendencies to write songs about love, lust, sandy beaches, dusty roads, wandering holy men, wolf birds and climate issues. In 2018, they launched their Love the Bay Music & Sailing Series on and around the San Francisco Bay, playing on deck with a variety of musical guests at their ports of call. The next year, they expanded Love the Bay concept into a monthly series of videos featuring performance and interviews with songwriters aboard Espresso. Amid the Covid pandemic, they performed countless porch concerts for their local community before resuming live performances throughout California.
"This band admirably reflects the wealth of music explored by Hot Tuna, they have that James Gang (Joe Walsh) metabolism, that Grateful Dead / Jerry Garcia Band homegrown classicism, and that ability to strike just the right chord with everyone in an appreciative audience." — John Apice, No Depression
