As you plan for 2026, why not add volunteering with rabbits to your goals? House Rabbit Society is an all-rabbit rescue located in Richmond, California, just north of Berkeley, and we would love to have you join our volunteer team! We're always looking for amazing individuals to help support our mission.
Right now, we especially need help with the following:
• Administrative: Help with filing, copying, scanning, organizing, and answering calls and emails
• Grooming: Keep the HRS rabbits looking fresh and help us raise funds during our public grooming fundraising days
• Photography: Help photograph our fabulous rabbits for social media and creative projects
• Social media: Craft fun and engaging social media posts to increase visibility and adoption rates (we really need help with TikTok!)
• Writing: Write creative bunny bios to showcase adoptable rabbits on our website
• Veterinary assistants: Gain valuable hands-on hours as a veterinary assistant under the guidance of our on-staff veterinarian (Pre-vet students, RVTs, and veterinarians welcome!)
• Hay bagging: Get your exercise by bagging hay for the HRSHop Shop. There's no such thing as too much hay!
Rabbit experience is not required; we're happy to train you on how to work with them. Have a unique skill that could benefit HRS? Let us know! We'd love to chat about how your talents can help the bunnies. You're welcome to email or call us, or stop by our facility to talk with our volunteers and staff about volunteering. We're open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm, and on Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm.
And if you're ready to find out more, submit a volunteer questionnaire today at houserabbit.org/volunteer. Let's make 2026 a year to remember for you and the rabbits you'll help!
