We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our small team in West Oakland. This is a hands-on role in a creative, fast-paced environment making custom dog leashes, collars, and accessories.
Position Details:
Hours: 5-8 hours per week to start
Preferred schedule: 2-3 mornings per week, Tues through Fri, between 9 am and 12 pm. Work schedule can be flexible for the right candidate.
Potential for additional hours as our business grows or during times of increased order volume.
Location: On site at our west Oakland workshop. Candidate must be local. Our studio is upstairs and is not ADA accessible, unfortunately.
Pay & Benefits:
$20–$24/hour to start DOE; with regular opportunities for pay increases based on performance and business growth.

Responsibilities:
Custom order production: fabricating custom dog gear using a variety of hand tools (training provided)
Ability to stand and be on your feet for several hours at a time
Reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting/moving boxes up to 50 lbs
Requires hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and both fine and gross motor movements
Visual acuity required for detailed work (corrective lenses acceptable)

Is hard working and reliable, with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
Has excellent attention to detail with the ability to learn and follow multistep processes
Is able to work efficiently and meet production targets while maintaining accuracy
Is able to work well independently but is comfortable asking questions when needed
Is a team player and is willing to pitch in where needed
Dog lover a plus, but not required!
Work Environment
We are located upstairs in an uninsulated warehouse. It can be hot in summer and cold in winter. The environment can be loud and dusty at times. Close toed shoes are required.

Our shared warehouse is a community of makers, artists, wood and metal workers, and small business owners. There may be possibilities for learning or collaboration within our workshop community.
