Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Mechanic specializing in European vehicles to join our service team. This position offers hourly pay with a minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week, providing consistent income and long-term stability. Mechanics are expected to own their own tools, and a tool purchase tuition/allowance is offered as part of the compensation package. Our shop is set up for technician success — each tech has two dedicated working bays, and the shop can house a dozen vehicles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced diagnostic equipment, automotive electrical systems, and schematics to accurately identify vehicle concerns.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of systems, including engines, transmissions, powertrain, suspension, steering, braking, and electrical components.
- Perform R&R, including shocks & struts, brakes, suspension components, tires, and wheel alignments.
- Work on both classic and late-model European vehicles, ensuring repairs meet or exceed manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct oil changes, fluid services, and routine maintenance to support optimal vehicle performance and longevity.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently and safely for repairs, diagnostics, and installations.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform advanced services such as ADAS calibration and other specialized repair procedures as required.
- Accurately document all diagnostic findings, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle conditions, recommended repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, shop procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic, preferably specializing in European vehicle brands (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, etc.).
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills across engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, brakes, and general automotive repair.
- Experience working on both classic and modern European vehicles.
- Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Customer-focused mindset with good communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
- Must own personal tools (tool purchase tuition/allowance provided).
