Position Type: Part-Time, Entry-Level Hourly Rate: Starting at $25.00 per hour
About the Role
We are a well-established and highly reputable environmental services company specializing in air emissions testing and regulatory compliance across California. From our Hayward base, our teams perform critical stack testing work at industrial facilities, power plants, landfills, and other sites throughout the Bay Area and the state.
We are seeking a motivated, physically capable individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Stack Testing Technician. This is a part-time position ideal for someone new to the environmental field who is eager to learn hands-on technical skills and be a part of our Northern California team.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist experienced technicians and project managers with all aspects of on-site stack testing operations.
• Learn and apply EPA Reference Methods 1–5 (velocity traverses, gas analysis, moisture content, particulate sampling, etc.).
• Become proficient in local Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) testing and reporting methods.
• Help set up, operate, and break down specialized sampling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collect and record emission samples and field data with accuracy.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles to high standards.
• Strictly follow all safety protocols and site-specific requirements.
• Travel locally within the Bay Area to Sacramento corridor, with occasional overnight travel for California projects.
Comprehensive training will be provided—no prior stack testing experience is necessary although technical ability, safety consciousness, team focus and punctuality are.
What We’re Looking For :
We need reliable, strong, and safety-conscious team players who are punctual, driven, and ready to work hard in an outdoor and industrial environment. Ideal candidates will be:
• Physically fit and able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and handle varying weather conditions.
• Highly dependable with excellent attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Detail-oriented and eager to learn technical procedures.
• Comfortable working in team settings at client industrial sites.
• Possessing a valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required (some college or technical background in environmental science, chemistry, or mechanics is a plus).
This is a great opportunity for young, energetic individuals who want to build a long-term career in a stable, hands-on field.
