Established commercial general contractor specializing in multifamily renovations, capital improvements, structural repairs, and emergency response work is seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Superintendent to oversee daily construction operations.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing field operations, scheduling crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily field operations
Schedule company crews and subcontractors
Manage multiple active construction projects
Coordinate manpower and equipment
Conduct jobsite visits and quality control inspections
Order and coordinate materials
Communicate with clients, vendors, and office staff
Resolve field issues and maintain project schedules
Ensure compliance with safety standards
Support project managers and estimating staff
Manage emergency response work when required
Lead and develop field personnel
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience
Previous Superintendent, General Superintendent, or Operations Manager experience
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple crews and projects simultaneously
Experience scheduling labor and subcontractors
Ability to read construction plans and specifications
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Valid California Driver License
