The Landscape Construction Crew Lead supports the Foreman in coordinating daily job site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards of quality. This position requires strong technical skills in landscape construction, carpentry, irrigation, and plant installation. The Crew Lead serves as a bridge between crew members and the Foreman, ensuring tasks are completed according to design plans, schedule, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities-
Field Operations & Teamwork:
Work under the direction of the Landscape Foreman to complete daily job site objectives.
Lead and assist crew members in construction, planting, and installation tasks.
Ensure all work meets company quality standards and project timelines.
Follow directions carefully and maintain effective communication with supervisors and teammates.
Technical Skills & Construction:
Perform skilled landscape construction tasks, including carpentry, decking, fencing, concrete, and stonework.
Install and repair irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water use and compliance with local codes. Proficient knowledge in industry common Irrigation controllers and programming procedures.
Identify and properly install California native and edible plants according to design specifications.
Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment damage immediately.
Adhere to company policies regarding timekeeping, breaks, and conduct.
Communication & Coordination:
Maintain open communication with the Foreman regarding progress, needs, and challenges on site.
Assist in coordinating materials, tools, and supplies as needed.
Support positive client relations through professional, respectful behavior on site.
Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience in landscaping or landscape construction
Proficient in English
Proficient in basic carpentry and irrigation installation/repair
Strong plant knowledge, including California natives and edible species
Ability to read and follow landscape plans and construction details
Experience in leading small teams or acting as a crew lead preferred
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively under a Foreman
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain
