Tokyo Express is a Solitaire & Two-Player strategic simulation of the night naval battles off Guadalcanal.. in the Solitaire Version, you command the US Fleet, awaiting the emergence of the Tokyo Express from the darkness. You group your ships into formations, assign orders & select the targets to Attack Torpedoes & Guns.
Basic Game: Creating U.S. and Japanese formations, Assigning orders to U.S. formations, U.S. Freedom of Action, Determining Japanese orders from the battle of movement display.
Standard Game: Drawing Action Chits to determine when detection and combat occur, Column formations and columwise maneuvers, Japanese Mission Movement, Collisions, Making detection attempts against enemy formations, U.S. radardetection, Japanese hidden force suprise torpedo attacks.
Advanced Game: Random events, Japanese and U.S. float planes admiral, Interference of land on U.S. radar, Advanced Battle Movement, Flight, Secondary Battles, Mistaken Targets.
Two-Player Game: Adapting the solitare rules for two-players, Generating scenarios for two-players, U.S. and Japanese Hidden Force Displays, Secret assignment of formation orders and speed.
