This is a placeholder ad until I get back from a jazz gig tonight, as it takes a really long time to research current prices on older games. So the stated price is of course a rough guess at an average for most of these. I don't want to flood the ads either, so have pulled in the one I already had for sale, Medici, and will add more details for the others later on. Note also that I am placing a separate ad for games NOT designed by Reiner Knizia.
Traumfabrik -- similar concept to Show Manager, except for films vs. plays -- mint condition; never played (I played this game several times in a game club and then bought my own copy, which still hasn't punched out its pieces).
Quo Vadis -- cut-throat "Diplomacy"-style game with an entirely different board setup and mechanisms, but the principle is similar in that players collaborate to help each other reach the top of the Roman government, but more often stab each other in the back along the way. One of Knizia's more innovative designs.
Marco Polo -- I never found anyone to play this one with, but a study of the rules indicates some resemblance to Medici and a few other games from Knizia's past that work on the theme of balancing commodities to corner a market.
Rheinlander -- I believe this is an adaptation of another Knizia game, as are many of his designs, but I forget which one. The box photos should help. I never played this one, so it's in mint condition and hasn't yet punched out its pieces.
Stephenson's Rocket -- In my view, this is a far superior rail network and stock trading game than the various rail and airline games designed by Alan Moon, and the board exclusively represents Great Britain in the early years of rail.
Medici (Reiner Knizia) -- original 1995 board game edition from Amigo -- asking $25 or best offer
This is the original 1995 German board game edition of Medici, one of the finer games designed by mathematician Reiner Knizia, and in his series of trading games (see High Society, Modern Art, and others).
There have been several editions since then, but I feel this one still has the best art overall. Included also are some suggested rules modifications that m any of us felt improved the game.
I am seeing wild prices for this as a collector's edition, so have priced it at about 2/3 of what the new edition appears to cost new. My price flexibility is wider for those buying other stuff. I would simply rather sell locally if it moves quickly, as shipping is a hassle and also has gotten very pricey.
This is a great game, but I rarely play anything anymore so am paring down to my top favourites like "Modern Art".
Note that I hit the photo limit due to including so many games in one ad. As games sell, I will add more photos for the ones that haven't sold yet. I figured it's more convenient for people to see these in just two ads than to search the linked ads and try to keep them all straight.
I can meet in Concord or Berkeley, with adequate advance notice (I use BART for my commute).
