We have 2 rooms available (w/ possibility of extension) in the Berkeley Hills at the border of Kensington (2 min walk to the cafe, supermarket, hardware store, gas station; several bus lines, and hidden stairwells to Solano Avenue, Kensington farmers market & restaurants, Tilden park (15-20 min walking), a 15 min bike ride or 10-15 min bus ride (the 7) to UC Berkeley. The home is 4 bedrooms / 3.5 bathrooms and fully furnished. All bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms are upstairs. The house has many common spaces, wooden floors, as well as a large kitchen which opens to a reading room and a stunning view of the bay, a dining room with access to a deck and the same view, and a large living room. A small garden with fruit trees and a front patio invites to gardening and chilling in the shade.
Room 1: Available March 1
Rent: $1383/per month (this amount includes utilities)
Deposit: $1389.75
The room is furnished but can be configured to your preference (1 or 2 twin beds, desk, chair, 2 nightstands) and has 1 built-in closet with a dresser and shelves. The room has a west facing window with bay views, making it very bright. You will share a connecting bathroom with another housemate.
Room 2: Available April 1
Rent: $1331/per month (includes utilities)
Deposit: $1389.75
The room is available for the same time period but starting April 1. It can be furnished with a bed/desk if you'd like. You will share a connecting bathroom with another housemate.
One housemate is moving out since she is a visiting student and is heading back home. Similar situation with the other housemate who works as a postdoc at Lawrence Lab, as her contract ends.
Unfortunately, no pets/live in partners. No smoking of any kind in the house. There is plenty of street parking (no permit required) and an in-house washer/dryer. We are fairly laid back, humorous, and have impromptu meals together.
