ABOUT RISE BODYWORKS

RISE Bodyworks was founded in 2010 by Dr. John Beall--chiropractor, licensed ART provider, strength and conditioning specialist, dog lover and surfing enthusiast--on Central Avenue in Alameda, CA. In August 2017, RISE grew out of its offices and moved to a historic 12,000 sq.ft. brick building in Alameda's Downtown District on Park Street. Now RISE offers a newly renovated gym, along with its award-winning clinic with a wide range of therapeutic and bodywork services, Pilates studio and group fitness classes (both of which were named "Best of Alameda 2018.")

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

-Be the face of RISE Bodyworks that is a stellar example of friendly, supportive customer service with a health/exercise mindset

-Greet clients/members enthusiastically and efficiently handle the check-in process: answer phones, take and check messages

-Provide tours to walk-in customers; be knowledgeable and educate current/prospective clients about all programs and activities offered at RISE

-Provide administrative support to chiropractic patients: verifying insurance, obtaining signatures for all waiver and patient forms

-Assist with maintenance of the workout/training areas, exercise rooms, and inventory, including laundering and restocking towels

-Have a general knowledge of gym equipment, fitness exercises, and various class types (Pilates preferred, but not required)

-Schedule appointments and classes for clients/members, process payments through MindBody Online software

-Create gym memberships and process payments through GymMaster Online software

-Assist with other tasks as needed

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

-Team oriented yet comfortable taking the lead on tasks with a focus on collaboration
-Comfortable taking feedback and learning from others
-Able to think swiftly and independently to resolve escalations as they arise
-Demonstrated excellence in customer service, time, and priority management
-Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
-Proficiency with both Google and Microsoft Office Suites. MindBody Online program experience a plus, but not required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

-Minimum high school diploma
-At least one year of experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality (paid or volunteer)
-Interest in exercise and fitness (experience in fitness industry a plus, but not required)

WORK HOURS

Minimum 20 hrs/week, up to 30 hrs/week

Weekday shifts:
4:45 AM--11:30 AM
11:30 AM--6 PM
6 PM--11 PM

Weekend shifts:
6:45 AM--1 PM
1 PM--7 PM

3 month probation period upon start of employment. Training will be provided during probation period. Initial pay rate during probation period $13-$14/hr depending on experience (DOE). After probation period and successful demonstration of skills and ability, pay rate will increase to $15-$16. Benefits include free gym membership and generous discounts on chiropractic, massage, and personal training. No medical or dental coverage.
