PREFACE: I am having a REALLY difficult time getting my head around the fact that a great deal of landlords/folks renting rooms are sans the understanding that they are not the only party taking a risk. I am further confounded by the fact that a great deal of landlords expect a prospective lodger/flatmate to have basically no/very little property in tow.
I am seeking housing now. My budget is $850-$950/month for rent.
I have been a traveling Engineer, in and out of the area for the past several years.
Gardening is one of my hobbies. I started a garden in pots. So yes, if you have space in your yard for my plants, that would be lovely. I would need about 6' x 5' or some permutation thereof) space to continue growing these plants in my 'mobile' garden. See the attached photo.
I'd like to think my mom did a good job. I do my best to respect others' spaces, and lifestyles. Yes, I know how to clean-up/pick-up after myself. I am conscientious; tidy; open to thoughtful bi-directional communication; and sensitive to the needs and wants of others, and would trust I would be afforded the same courtesy. No drugs. No alcohol. No smoking. Trustworthy, reliable, respectful, and open-minded I think would be operatives that my colleagues, friends and former landlords would use to describe me.
Question. Is there room to accommodate my two bicycles inside 'out of sight, out of mind' in the house or a secured area? Although I own a car, I try to bicycle as much as possible for my main means of transport. I NEED TO BE WITHIN A 5 MILE BICYCLE RADIUS OF OAKLAND/BERKELEY.
Providing stellar rental references is not a problem.
