Hello,
My name is Leif, and I’m an Adjunct Professor teaching design in the Bay Area. I’m a single dad with a wonderful 7-year-old daughter who’s very social, full of energy, and tons of fun. I love kids and truly cherish having her around. She’s with me about 50% of the time—typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus every other weekend.
I genuinely enjoy living with others and have done so for most of my life. I consider myself a great housemate—easygoing, communicative, and always respectful of shared spaces. I clean up after myself and value a harmonious living environment.
Ideally, I’d love to share a house or apartment with another single parent (male or female) or a couple with a child or children close to my daughter’s age. I’ve had this kind of setup before, and it was a truly positive experience.
My daughter attends school in Berkeley, so I’m hoping to find something within a ten-mile radius.
Like many, I was financially impacted by the steep drop in class offerings during COVID. Things have now improved and I have been teaching full time this fall—but I’m still playing it safe while I work on paying off credit cards. In my previous living situation, I shared a bedroom with my daughter, which worked well. I paid $1,200 plus utilities and am hoping to find something in a similar price range. That said, I can pay more—especially if there’s a room for each of us. If there are other kids around, room-sharing could also be a great option.
I’m open to various arrangements. While it would be wonderful to live in a place with other children, that’s not a dealbreaker. What matters most is a positive, welcoming energy. If you have a room, an in-law unit, or need a house sitter, I’d love to hear from you.
I always pay my bills on time, have a good credit score, and can provide excellent references.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
Kind regards,
Leif
