2021 Forest River IBEX 19MBH – $18,500 OBO – Fairfield / Concord / East Bay
Family bunkhouse that realistically sleeps 4–5. We tow with a Jeep Grand Cherokee (SUV-towable). Includes solar + inverter, anti-sway/weight-distribution hitch, outdoor griddle, and full camp-ready kit.
Why we’re selling:
This IBEX has been our family’s way to get out and actually go. Weekend trips, last-minute overnights, parks a hotel can’t touch — it’s basically our cabin on wheels. It’s been perfect while the kids still wanted bunks. Now they’re getting bigger, it costs money to store it, and we’re starting to grow out of the “family bunkhouse” phase. We’ll eventually downsize to a two-person rig once they’re out of the house.
Layout / sleeping:
• Front Murphy queen bed up front. During the day it folds up and becomes a sofa, so you actually get living space instead of a fixed bed hogging the floor.
• Two rear bunks (44" x 74") – real double beds, not “kid shelves.”
• Dinette converts to an extra sleep space.
• No slide-outs = simpler, lighter, fewer leak points.
Realistic sleep count: 4–5 comfortably.
Core specs (2021 IBEX 19MBH):
• Length: ~24' 8"
• Dry weight: ~4,100–4,500 lbs (SUV / half-ton towable — check your tow rating)
• Tongue weight: ~465–585 lbs
• Fresh / gray / black tanks: ~30 / 30 / 30 gal
• 15,000 BTU A/C
• 20,000 BTU propane furnace
• Enclosed underbelly, heated tanks, decent off-road clearance and all-terrain style tires
• 16' power awning with lighting
• Narrow body (around 7'4" wide) so it fits better on tighter forest roads and normal driveways
Condition / honesty:
• All systems work: appliances, electrical, outlets/USB, heater, A/C, water pump, water heater, plumbing, awning, battery/12V — everything is functional.
• One solar panel on the roof plus inverter, so you can keep the battery up and run basics off-grid.
• Dual batteries hold power well.
• No leaks reported, no known soft spots in the floor. Full dry bath (separate toilet + shower).
• Cosmetic stuff inside: some warped vinyl / chipped interior corners from normal kid use, small amount of water damage on one dinette cushion.
• Exterior is in good overall shape.
• Awning fabric is intact.
• Tires are the original set, with decent tread and no visible cracking.
• No spare tire.
• Clean title in hand.
Extras included in sale (this saves you hundreds if you’re new to RVing):
• Weight distribution / anti-sway hitch (way safer and more stable to tow — you don’t have to source your own).
• Exterior propane griddle that mounts outside the trailer and hooks straight into the trailer’s propane line — outdoor breakfast is elite.
• Leveling blocks, chocks.
• Fresh water hose with pressure regulator + filter attachment.
• Sewer / gray hoses.
Basically you’re camp-ready on Day 1, not “spend another $500 at Camping World.”
Towing / who this is for:
• We tow it with a Jeep Grand Cherokee (see photos). So yes — a properly equipped full-size SUV can handle this trailer. You do NOT automatically need a heavy-duty pickup.
• You should still be comfortable towing ~4,500 lbs dry plus your gear, so please make sure to verify your specific vehicle’s tow rating and tongue weight limit.
• Narrow body and no slide-outs = easier to learn for first-timers.
Paperwork:
• Clean California title in my name, ready to sign.
• Simple written bill of sale (“as-is, no warranty”).
• Cash or meet at your bank. No trades.
• After pickup I’ll immediately file the California DMV release of liability so it’s officially yours.
Showing / logistics:
• Trailer is stored in Cordelia (near Fairfield). Easy access so you can walk through it, test battery/propane systems (lights, water pump, furnace, fridge on propane, etc.), and make sure your tow setup matches the included hitch. There's no shore power there, but if you're serious after seeing it, we can coordinate a time to hook to shore power for the A/C -- it works just fine.
If you’re reading this, it’s still available. Please reach out if you’re serious and ready to tow.
