Hi, I’m looking for a roommate to move-in April 1. It’s a 2 bedroom 1 bath craftsman house in Temescal/Bushrod neighborhood of Oakland. Ashby, MacArthur, and Rockridge bart are all about 1 mile away. Lots of dining options in Temescal are a 10 minute walk away.
This is a well loved home on the second floor of a duplex. The landlord and his family live downstairs in a separate entry and are very considerate and easy to get along with.
Location: 55th St and Dover St
Rent: $1595
Utilities: ~$75 for electricity and internet (landlord pays water and garbage)
Deposit: $1500
Long term is preferred. No pets allowed per lease sadly
The Room:
Very large room with west and northwest facing windows. It is roughly 240 sqft.
It will come unfurnished but let me know if you are interested in various furniture in the photos.
Amenities:
Fully furnished interior (though I am not against changes)
Relatively new washer and dryer
Well equipped kitchen with ample counter space and a gas stove
Hardwood flooring throughout with a few area rugs
Great lighting with lots of south facing windows
Attic space and lots of closets

Me:
I (he/him 33) work at a botanic garden and enjoy all things nature related. I like to grow plants, climb, backpack, and read. I usually come home to just relax and recharge but I’ll sometimes host friends and small gatherings. I am an omnivore though I am considerate of other’s dietary preferences. I grew up in the east bay but have lived in various places doing botanical field work. I’ve spent the past 4 years back in the east bay in this house. Hoping to find someone with similar values willing to stay longer term.
