We are seeking 1 fabulous individual to join our amazing home, a beautiful Victorian redwood house in South Berkeley.
There is 1 available room, up a flight of 13 steps, one priced at $1200, starting Feb 1, with flexible move-in.
Ideal housemate will be good communicators, clean, willing to do your personal work to live in respect, integrity and accountability with each other, care about political change, initiate occasional community gatherings or meals together, and like to enjoy life. Core community values include dismantling white supremacy, and upholding LGBTQ+ and indigenous rights, among others! We invite folks interested in building community for the longer-term, but open to shorter intervals for the right fit. All people are welcome and equally prioritized.
The Yellow House is a bright, spacious two-story house with four bedrooms. It was built in 1900 and has a newly renovated bathroom. The house is set back from the street which keeps it quiet and peaceful.
The large, open kitchen/great room downstairs has redwood trim, art deco cabinets and a sizable hall. There is also a spare guest room/study, and two bathrooms. All of the rooms have high ceilings, are bright, sunny and have big windows and hardwood floors. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, we cannot have animals.
About the Current Housemates!
D (she/her) (cis female, white-identified, queer, Age 45, anti-zionist Jewish). I’m a political activist and a social extrovert. I work for an environmental non-profit focused on agriculture and getting toxins out of our food system. I love spending time in nature, connecting with my friends, climbing, biking and creative fun.
E (she/her) (African American, Cis Female, Age 55) I’m a Wellness Practitioner (Yoga Instructor and Certified Breathwork Facilitator), fourth year undergraduate psychology major, and moon meditation circle enthusiast. I am intentional about creating and being a part of communities that are purposed for inclusion, safety, wellness, and joy. When I’m not at local restaurants with my friends, spending time in nature or watching a film at a charming movie theater, I’m thinking up ways to get an impromptu Soul Train line going.
S (she/her) (cis female, queer, age 46). I'm an Aussie transplant, having been in the Bay Area for about 10 years. I'm a Painting Conservator by trade and love all things that live at the intersection of art and science (yes, I am an art nerd). I am also a foodie and love to cook and bring people together over meals. In my down time I love to be in nature, hiking, going to see live music/drag/comedy shows and catching up with friends.
