We are looking for a housemate who is easy going, socially conscious, an effective communicator, who wants to have a good relationship with the people they live with, and can help keep common spaces clean and tidy. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
The room for rent:
12 ft. 11” x 24 ft. 5”
Second largest bedroom of the home with tons of beautiful natural lighting
Located on the first floor
The house: A little front yard and a back with a deck and shared parking area. There is ample street parking. The house has tons of light, hardwood floors throughout, a gas stove, dishwasher, granite countertops, and laundry in-unit. There are 2.5 baths (including the main room), and you will share a shower with 2 other roommates (S&M). The room and house are only accessible by stairs.
The location is ideal. It's near Piedmont Avenue, Lake Merritt, Morcom Rose Garden, the Grand Lake area, Piedmont Grocery, Whole Foods and Safeway. We're near the 580/24/etc highways. It's about a 25 minute walk to both 19th Street BART and MacArthur BART. There is a Transbay Bus stop (Line P) as well as the 88 and 57 buses within a block and the 51A is a short walk.
A little about us:
S, she/her, is a 36 year old queer mixed race Latina. S works as a Spanish interpreter and is passionate about her work. She is a busy body around the house and can often be found cooking, tinkering, or working on bicycles. S & M have a small dog who is very sweet and well behaved. S & M are a couple.
M, she/her, is a 35 year old queer white midwesterner. M works in mental health and works both from home and outside the home. M loves riding bicycles, hiking, listening to music, and watching slow movies.
K, she/her, is a 36-year-old queer Irish-ish DC native who is chill and likes to cook, paint, hang out by the lake, and play games. She is an art therapist and preschool consultant by day. K and A, who share the primary bedroom, are a couple.
A, they/them, is a 32 year old brown mixed race queer, who works with youth pushing local food policy in Oakland & Richmond through a non-profit. They enjoy trying new recipes, chatting about what our shared passions are in life, games, dancing!, music, and currently learning the drums (not at the house tho! lol).
We share oils, spices and cleaning supplies. We tend to cook separately and have our own things going on, but also like to hang out or snack together and generally build community within the house.
