THE LEASE:

Length of stay: 3-6 months (shifting to month-to-month after a minimum of 3 months)

ABOUT US:
We’re a queer couple in our 30’s. Wes (any pronouns) is passionate about community care and social justice organizing. Aerin (he/they) enjoys singing with others and making collage art. We both enjoy getting into nature, listening to records, cooking, and going to the movies. We both work in the mental health field. We get up between 7-9am and go to bed between 10pm-midnight. We like our home to be a calming, nourishing place for us and our loved ones.

HOUSE EXPECTATIONS:
Overnight guests: Live your life! Occasional overnights are totally fine—we’re just not looking to add a fourth roommate.
Cleanliness: We prefer someone who helps keep common spaces clean (dishes and counters done right away, weekly vacuuming and surface cleaning, etc).
Low-scent: No scented candles, perfume, or incense. Wes has scent sensitivities.
Substance Use: No smoking inside the house (including weed). Alcohol & other substances fine. Aerin is sober; Wes is not.
COVID: We follow a moderate approach: masking when sick or on planes, testing with symptoms, quarantining if positive, and practicing risk mitigation after exposure.

OUR IDEAL HOUSEMATE:
Has a defined timeline (or can give ~1 month’s notice when moving on)
Works outside the home or primarily from their bedroom (we both WFH with confidential meetings)
Down to earth, approachable, communicative, has interests

SOME QUIRKS / NUANCES:
Aerin will likely be undergoing an intense surgery in early or mid 2026. We need our future housemate to be okay with friends going in and out to visit and support while he heals.
Pet situation: We have a dog and a cat. They’re super sweet, but don’t get along and it’s important to keep them separate. We have a system figured out that’s been working well.
The office: There is a futon for occasional guests to sleep on, or for anyone to hang out on if the living room is already in use. The office is off-limits during the day when Aerin is working. It’s used for storing collective household items, but there isn’t any extra storage space.
