This is a spacious, 2nd floor, 3 bdr/2 ba apartment (Over 1200 SQ’) in the Oakland Dimond District available to one individual, or maybe a stable couple. Option for furnished or unfurnished.
RENT: $1,200/mo*. max, includes all utilities + Xfinity HS Internet, and my You-Tube accounts for TV and Premium Music. There is no TV in the common area, but I might invest in one soon. $700 deposit. Move-in costs, 1st & last month's rent ($2400), plus $700 = $3100.
*I can consider some form of monthly rebate or discount for housemate who can take on a greater share of household tasks, because I recently had two major back surgeries. Have a good recovery, but still some restrictions.
-Master Suite is 14’ x 14’ with a walk-in hallway, large closet and private bath w/ stand-up shower. Fresh painting & carpeting. 2nd bathroom has a tub you can use. Bedroom can be furnished or unfurnished. (See pix)
-Secure* month-to-month lease with a wonderful, sweet-natured landlady. *This is secure in that she recently took the building OFF the market, and is immensely cooperative. She actually cares!
-Spacious living room and kitchen with many possibilities. (See pix). Looks good as it is, but open to upgrades furniture and art.
-Fully stocked and furnished, good sized kitchen with ample cabinet and cupboard space. Upgrades welcome, but you’d have to bring your own coffee-maker.
-Easy street parking.
-Walking Distance to Dimond Park & Lions Pool, Sequoyah Elementary School, Fruitvale/MacArthur restaurant/biz district & mainline AC Transit stops.
-Nice, beautiful, diverse Oakland neighborhood,
-420 friendly. I’m pretty much “retired” from the industry.
-No tobacco.
-Sorry, no pets. I love dogs and cats, but it's not up to me.
I am a "radical" Jewish writer, editor and communications consultant. Much of my current work addressed the gross political situations in the US and Israel, and Palestinian human rights. I publish a variety of humor and commentary and get paid for most of it. Most of my billables come from editing dissertations, giving counsel for college & HS admissions. I also manage my own private English language improvement program (Accent Reduction) for non-native English speakers, which includes coaching for public speaking. Most of the time I’m a fun guy. I hold a low-level certification in Traditional Chinese Medicine for Acupressure massage techniques. Lots of great music in this house – jazz, blues, real Rock ‘n’ Roll, Bluegrass, Reggae & some classical.
Kitchen & Food: I’m a lacto-ovo vegetarian, but don’t care what other people eat. (OK, I do, but . . . ) However, no pork or pork products in this house. Stinky fish and bird carcasses must be managed by whomever brings them in. I have food management safety certification; I’m not a total hard-ass about it, but kitchen sink & counters are clean before bedtime.
