We're looking for a kind, thoughtful, respectful, quiet, progressive person who likes cats to occupy a large comfortable private room with a dressing room and porch overlooking Alcatraz Avenue. The rooms are upstairs; you will share a ground floor bathroom with one other fastidious lodger. The rooms (see pictures) are cheerful, quiet and comfortable. There is a queen sized bed with a good memory foam mattress, an old table that serves as a desk, large closets, shelf and drawer space, and a dressing room. Sheets, towels, etc., everything you'll need will be provided. You will share a well equipped kitchen, pleasant deck and garden.

Cats: there are two cats

This is in a handsome, old. craftsman house and a quiet, congenial, respectful household one mile from the University of California campus, and a 12 minute walk to Rockridge BART. We are literally around the corner from the well known shops and restaurants on College Avenue.

Easy commute to San Francisco; (30 minutes)
Walk to Alta Bates Hospital (5 minutes), 15 minutes by bike to Herrick Hospital, Children's Hospital, etc.
Walk or bike to downtown Berkeley and Oakland, to a ballet at the Zellerbach Auditorium, or to a play at Berkeley Rep; or BART to the San Francisco Opera (about 45 minutes door-to-door. You won't have to worry about parking.)

There is a good kitchen, and a big sunny deck.

No smokers (of course) queer friendly (of course) and sorry, no pets, no exceptions. There are already two cats, that's enough.

An important feature here is that no one in this quiet, congenial respectful household would ever think of not making sure that everything he/she uses is cleaned and put away where it belongs. There is a well equipped shared kitchen, which, like the rest of the place, is always picked up, surfaces clean and ready for the next meal prep.

There is a good piano.

There are excellent laundry facilities, wifi, printer, copier, scanner, etc.
