A furnished bedroom with a queen bed, a dresser, a bedside table lamp, a large closet, east-facing windows, and wooden floors is available December 1 for $1100 a month plus utilities. If you have your own furniture, the furniture can be moved into the garage.
This is a perfect spot for someone who is looking for a temporary housing situation -- or is hoping to pay less rent in exchange for living with someone else who works from home occasionally and has a dog.
The apartment is beautiful and bright! It's located on the second floor via a small flight of stairs. The majority of the home is furnished with books and plants. The apartment has wooden floors, a lot of natural light, a small balcony, plenty of storage space in the garage, coin-operated laundry in the basement, some shared outdoor space in the back of the building, and very friendly neighbors. The apartment building has four other units everyone gets along well (sharing occasional meals, rotating garbage and recyling, and having each other's backs overall). There is a shared parking spot for the apartment -- which we could alternate.
I'm a full-time researcher, journalist, activist, artist. I've been here for about five years and live with my nearly 6-year-old pitbull (he's affectionate, doesn't bark often, loves people, and is reactive toward other dogs). I work three days a week from home, travel about once a month for work, love to cook and keep the home clean, and occasionally have people over for study groups and dinners. I'm queer, white, cis in my 30s (she/her). Happy to give you references from past housemates if you're interested.
