Our intentional group house is seeking housemates for our beautiful home in the Berkeley Hills. Our house is an expansive, warm place for hangouts, conversations, co-working, and the occasional party. Our name, Heartloom, reflects our approach to community as interweaving individual threads of our lives and aspirations.
THE ROOMS: One room is very sunny and has an unobstructed view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Tamalpais, and a partial view of the SF skyline, and access shared bathrooms ($1,535/mo + utilities, available December 13). Another room is even larger (15'x15'), has an ensuite bathroom and two walls of windows ($1,735/mo + utilities, available January 1).
THE VIBES: We love a low key get together, kitchen chats, group projects, and the occasional celebration! Some of our past events include a turtleneck party (the game: wear a turtleneck and try to ward off the vampires), a Sunday brunch with homemade baked goods, and a surprise birthday party. We are a queer and neurodivergent friendly space and would love to hear from you whoever you are and wherever you are coming from.
THE HOUSE: There are 4 stories. The top floor has 4 bedrooms; the ground floor is all common space; the lower level has a second living room/craft space, 2 bedrooms, and laundry; the lowest level is two garages for storage (or workshop space) and opens up on to our backyard. There is also front garden space!
THE AREA: lots of greenery and a close walk to a number of nearby parks. You can easily reach Downtown Berkeley via bike, a bus stop that is one minute away, or a 25 minute walk.
THE PEOPLE: There are usually 6 or 7 of us. We share a love for creative expression, outdoor activities, and exploring interests that matter to us from maps to circling and embodiment practices. We balance our professional lives with artistic and spiritual pursuits, and we bring a mix of playfulness, thoughtfulness, and a genuine drive to connect with each other and the world around us.
