Looking for a friendly roommate to share a 2-bedroom available starting mid August.
$1,200 per month plus 1/2 share of internet and water bill. Gas/electric and trash included in rent.
Room is in a detached, converted garage with its own private entrance next to the apartment. This room has its own 1/2 bathroom (toilet and sink). The room itself is on the smaller side but the main apartment space has ample living area where there is room for studying, working, hanging out, and potential to store some additional belongings.
Shower+ tub located in a shared bathroom.
Available with a full size bed and small desk, if desired, or the room can be provided vacant.
Wood ceiling, hardwood floor.
Washer, dryer, dishwasher all in-unit.
Nice kitchen + living room.
Near the Ohlone greenway pedestrian and bicycle trail and Strawberry Creek Park.
The home is on a very quiet street, away from the city noise, yet very central and walking distance to UC Berkeley, downtown Berkeley, BART, Trader Joe's, Berkeley Bowl, cafes, restaurants, Bancroft Community Gardens, and other local favorites.
Apartment is part of a 4-unit apartment courtyard. Shared backyard is maintained by a professional landscaper with Strawberry Creek running through. Shared deck is ideal for relaxing, gardening, or hosting small gatherings.
Very much OK for you you to study/work from home in the living room on weekdays.
Our neighbors are all wonderful, friendly, and considerate. Many have lived here for decades.
Your roommate would be: mid 30's woman, practicing attorney who works away at an office Mondays through Fridays supporting nonprofits and small local businesses. Is very neat and tidy, loves living in Berkeley, and enjoys sharing occasional meals with friends and roommates, cooking, wine, sewing, dancing, and walks around the neighborhood. Has experience living with roommates in a variety of settings including more intentional community/co-op settings and more independent lifestyle settings. Is a co-owner of the property.
