Available August 1st, is a cozy, bright bedroom, (approximately 110 sq. ft.) in a charming 3-bedroom, 2-bath Berkeley home. The room features two large windows that provide plenty of natural light, a spacious closet, and beautiful hardwood floors. It has been a wonderful home for both local and international UC Berkeley students, recent graduates, professors, and professionals over the years.
Rent is $1,150/month. Utilities, (PG&E, EBMUD, and AT&T Internet) are shared equally among housemates and average approximately $150 per month.
We prefer a one-year lease but may be open to a shorter term for the right tenant. Move-in requires first month’s rent, last month’s rent, and a security deposit.
Our home is centrally located in Berkeley and offers easy access to everything the area has to offer. UC Berkeley and Berkeley City College are both within easy walking or biking distance. Downtown Berkeley, Ashby BART, AC Transit, and freeway access are all conveniently nearby, making commuting simple whether you’re heading to campus or elsewhere in the Bay Area. The 36 AC Transit Line which travels to and from the UC Berkeley campus, is located on the corner of our block.
The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and primarily made up of well-maintained single-family homes with friendly neighbors who genuinely look out for one another. Free street parking is readily available, and several excellent cafés, restaurants, grocery stores, and neighborhood shops are just a short walk away.
The house itself is warm, sunny, and full of character, featuring original hardwood floors throughout, a spacious kitchen, and a classic vintage Wedgewood gas range that’s both beautiful and a joy to use.
You’ll be sharing the home with a longtime Berkeley elementary school teacher who’s an East Bay native, his school-aged child who lives here half-time, an indoor cat, and another friendly 25-year-old East Bay native who has their own bedroom. The available bathroom is shared with the 25 year old housemate.
We’re seeking someone who is clean, considerate, relatively quiet, responsible, honest, and communicative—someone who appreciates living in a peaceful shared home and respects common spaces and basic household expectations. We value a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and respected.
Cat lovers are also welcome, as we are a cat-friendly household!
