The house is a Victorian home with nice architectural accents (incl. stained glass windows, funky door hardware, hardwood floors, vintage tile), tall ceilings, and lots of natural light. There's a good amount of common space: living room, dining room, large kitchen w/ plenty of counter space/cabinets, basement for storage, and a big backyard with two beautiful, big trees (redwood and oak) and a raised deck. Pictures are reflective of what the home looks like currently.
There's lots of transit options nearby: ~7 minute walk to Ashby Bart and 1-3 blocks from the F, 7, 12, 18, 27 and 800 bus lines. Plenty of bike paths, bike boulevards, and bike-friendly streets in the area as well. While there's no private parking, there is street parking available using a J permit. Berkeley Bowl, Walgreens, and the neighborhood hardware store are all within very short walking distance.
Additional utility expenses (water, PG&E and wifi) are shared among housemates. Landlord also requires a deposit of 1 month's rent.
House culture is relaxed and social, but still relatively quiet. We enjoy cooking together, having the occasional movie night, and sharing our space with friends. We take turns splitting chores and like to keep the home clean.
